I hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I came to philosophy after pursuing several degrees in music where I focused on music theory and early medieval music. I finally realized that most of my interests in music were philosophically motivated and so after completing my Master of Music degree I made the jump to philosophy.

I've become interested in issues of action, causation, and metaphysical dependence. My research tends to walk the line between metaphysics, philosophy of action, and philosophy of science, though at the end of the day I would say I'm a metaphysician interested in the metaphysics of nature.

The flagship campus of the University of Tennessee System and partner in the Tennessee Transfer Pathway.
