Finishing the pedagogical workshop: STAR (Supportive Teaching for Academic Resilience). This “learning community” workshop began in the summer of 2024 and ends in December, 2024. The focus is on reaching students from rural areas who are first generation university students. Faculty learn all sorts of strategies to create an environment where students feel less isolated and more willing to ask for help; making learners more “resilient” is the ultimate goal.
