Research
I’ve recently published books on the philosophy of history and on Werner Herzog. I’m currently working on essays on Kant and Wordsworth on self-knowledge, on Goethe on mythical conflict in human life, and on the theory (success-conditions and effect) of lyric poetry. I am the General Series Editor of Oxford Studies in Philosophy and Literature.
