I am originally from Greenville, SC and moved to Knoxville in Fall of 2020. My background is in psychology, adolescent counseling, and social work, but my passion is for writing and teaching philosophy. I am currently a fourth-year graduate student and am working on a dissertation entitled “Grieving Virtuously: An Essay on Love, Grief, and Forgiveness.”
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, hiking, and playing with my dog Dolittle.

Research
My primary research interests are in moral philosophy (virtue ethics, Kantian ethics, perfectionism), Philosophical Psychology (emotion, motivation, and intention), and Practical Ethics (emerging technology, clinical and disability ethics). I have additional interests in animal ethics and psychology, environmental ethics, value theory, and the philosophy of love and friendship.
