WELCOME TO THE

PHILOSOPHY DEPARTMENT

The Department of Philosophy is a smaller but dynamic department with a faculty that is actively engaged in research and scholarship, along with teaching. We regularly host prominent visiting speakers, conferences, and symposia throughout the academic year. We offer courses in all the traditional areas of philosophy (metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, history of philosophy, etc.). At the undergraduate level, we offer both a major and minor in philosophy, with concentrations in general philosophy, legal and political philosophy, and philosophy of science and medicine. At the graduate level, we offer both the M.A. and the Ph.D. For more information about current areas of faculty expertise and interest, see: Our Faculty.
