Faculty Research Seminar Flourishes
It’s been another terrific year for the ongoing faculty and advanced graduate student research seminar, “Freedom: From All Sides.” The seminar, funded in part by the UT Humanities Center, focuses on a wide range of philosophical issues (metaphysical, moral, epistemological, political, etc.) related to the idea of freedom. About four to five times a semester, faculty and advanced graduate students meet to workshop an in-progress article or chapter by a seminar participant or invited guest. Invited guests this past year included Susan Wolfe (UNC-Chapel Hill), Jay Wallace (UC-Berkeley), and Eric Brown (Washington University-St. Louis). Invited guests also deliver a public lecture while on campus.
