Philosophy in the News

Congratulations to the winners of this years Mark and Inge Moore Undergraduate Essay Contest

Congratulations to the winners of this years Mark and Inge Moore Undergraduate Essay Contest. There were many excellent papers submitted. But ultimately three distinguished themselves from the rest.

  • First place goes to Evan Ford for his essay "The Consequences of Rational Envy in Rawls’ Justice as Fairness."
  • Second place is shared by Jason Moeller for his essay "Valuing Nature – A History of Instrumentality" and Victoria Montebello for her essay "There’s a Mystery Man in Your Basement: An Argument Against OIC."

Thanks to all the undergraduates who submitted essays; it is gratifying to see such high quality philosophical work being done by UT students!
